Meeting Notes 30th March 2010

Nine committee members were present and Mr Wagstaffe agreed to chair the meeting. Two positions are vacant on the committee and one member offered to be Treasurer and another is considering the Chairmanship.

An invitation had been received from the Conference of Waterways Societies but no-one was available to attend the meeting on 17th April.  Mr Docking has produced a calendar for 2011 with towpath pictures and asked if they could be sold at the boat rally.  It was suggested that he is offered a stall.

The committee accepted the members’ decision at the AGM to go for Option C which is the mooring basin with the option to proceed further.  Advice was given by British Waterways on what further studies might be needed and how we should prioritise.

As the sign at the entrance to the Arm is looking very shabby it was agreed to get a quotation for a replacement and to also replace the one along the Arm.  A gate for security for the long term moorings is being planned and quotes for that are being obtained.  Three quotes have been obtained for cutting the grass around the Arm and cutting the hedge and the cheapest quote was chosen.  The planning for the boat rally is proceeding well with 15 boats and 7 stalls booked in.
